Our local aspiring evangelical preacher seems to have run into some trouble with his "calling from God"... It seems as if the local folks aren't as keen on his preaching at the market as God is. I'm really quite disappointed with the local police for removing buskers and, yes, Brother Eli. The spectacle is what makes public outings like the market fun and interesting. As much as I think that what is shouted from the soapbox is nonsense, I do like living in a communnity where citizens are free to do so. He wasn't hurting anybody. I have found a video clip of Eli in action. Below it you will find a link to an article on the market incident, as well as Eli's response on his blog.

CBC New Brunswick - Panhandlers not welcome at Boyce market: "Fredericton police say complaints from vendors prompted them to remove two men in front of the Boyce Farmers' Market on Saturday.

Officers removed a young man preaching on a soapbox at approximately 11:40 a.m., and 30 minutes later, removed a man playing his guitar."

Eli's response:
Timothy Ministry: A Reprobate Mind: "
Had an encounter with the police on this occasion, received a warning that I could be fined $25o dollars for causing a disturbance. Please pray that the door of the gospel be not hindered, and for wisdom on how I shall proceed. 'In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.' (John 16:33) "
