Okay so I experienced a slight shift of paradigm tonight. Just a little.

The problem with awareness of environmental, social, justice, and economic issues is that one can get so depressed and feel so discouraged and impotent. I am trying to rectify these emotions by going to law school although that is a whole other can of worms. The thing is that these days when I speak to fellow compassionate humans, we usually end up with the same old conclusions: humans are fucked, we are raping our home, we are like a cancer, we are on a path of self-destruction, the world will be better off once we have killed ourselves off....etc.etc.etc.

Now what if we look at our species as facing a huge and glorious challenge? We like solving problems and being curious, as history testifies to. Is it possible to see this capitalism/globalization/free trade and low labour standards crap as just a crazy damn hurdle that we must work our way over as a civilization? I mean in that light, it almost seems fun and exciting! A new riddle to play with!

Maybe I am just temporarily inspired....
